Fiberglass is the insulation we remove most — and it's the messiest to handle without the right setup. Old batts slump, compress, and lose R-value; blown-in fiberglass settles, collects dust, and turns to an itchy, airborne nuisance the moment it's disturbed. We remove both kinds completely while keeping the respirable fibers contained and out of your home.
Batts vs Blown-In
The two forms come out differently:
- Fiberglass batts are pulled by hand, rolled, and bagged — fast where there's access, careful around wiring and fixtures.
- Blown-in (loose-fill) fiberglass is vacuumed out with a commercial insulation vacuum and long hose runs, so it never has to be carried through the house.

It depends. If the existing fiberglass is dry and intact, topping up can work. But if it's contaminated, water-damaged, slumped, or has lost R-value, removing it first gives you a clean, even base and a far better result. We can assess and advise.
